Through its Rural Roads Program, the Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County (RCD) works with private road associations and landowners to identify and repair erosion and drainage related road hazards and maintenance issues.  The program helps landowners develop long-term erosion control plans and provides cost share to implement erosion control projects.

The RCD is actively looking for private road associations and rural landowners that have road related erosion concerns.  Interested landowners begin the process by submitting a short application to the RCD.  After receiving the application the RCD schedules site visits to meet with landowners and gather information about their erosion and drainage concerns.  Applications are then ranked by a Technical Advisory Committee to determine which applicants have the highest priority erosion and sediment control issues.  The RCD is a non-regulatory local district that works with landowners on a voluntary basis.

If you are interested or have further questions please contact Ezra Neale at the RCD office by phone at (831) 464-2950 ext. 14 or by email at eneale@rcdsantacruz.org.
